Dorset House CAD Drawings & Analysis

London Stone Conservation was awarded the contract to restore the Grade II listed Dorset House entrance façade. The contract was two-fold: To restore the historic Portland stone façade, and to develop a new cladding scheme that would return the entrance to the original Art Deco design.

A set of three-dimensional renderings and models were developed to communicate all the details of the finished product. Having a three-dimensional model allowed all parties to quickly understand, amend and approve the precise details of the project and avert problems before they presented themselves. The drawings took very complex, large, and disparate information and combined them into something that could be easily understood: Clients and their agents easily understood the model. The stone manufacturer could precisely model costs and generate the cutting program. The CAD model supported project management, ensuring construction details could be clearly communicated to operatives on-site.
