The Victorian Fountain was erected to mark and commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887. Placed in the centre of the St Paul’s Recreation Ground, the fountain was erected to the memory of ‘the late Mr. Montgomery’, honorary treasurer of the Recreation Ground Committee.

HoLT gave a grant towards conservation of the fountain in partnership with the St Paul’s Recreation Ground and London Borough of Hounslow. London Stone Conservation was commissioned to restore the fountain to match archived images and install new piping for fresh drinking water.

The fountain is a rectangular form with columns at each corner, and is topped by a cupola. Each face has an indented arch and basin with a pediment above, in which is an elegant, incised design. It is  made from polished and unpolished red and grey Aberdeen granite.
