Metropolitan Drinking Fountain & Cattle Trough Association as a gift to Chiswick Homefield in 1902.

The fountain sits in the west side of Turnham Green Terrace just south of the District line railway bridge to Turnham Green station.

London stone conservation was commissioned by HOLT for the repair and conservation of the drinking fountain. The project was carried out by HOLT in partnership with Hounslow Council and the Drinking Fountain Association.

The drinking fountain had fallen into disrepair over time, with its original finial lost due vandalism. LSC undertook a full reinstatement of the fountain. The fountain was carefully dismantled, with the old plumbing removed and replaced with a new system. The original rosettes were replaced with new taps, and the updated plumbing was reconnected to the water mains to restore full functionality. All stonework was thoroughly cleaned, and minor repairs were carried out. The new granite finial was carved to its original silhouette detail and installed on the top. The lettering was meticulously cleaned and re-gilded, and the entire stone surface was waxed and polished, ensuring the fountain was fully restored.
