Carving and restoration
In a niche over the front entrance of the grade II* listed building stands the statue of ariel and prospero from Shakespeare’s last play The Tempest. The 10 ft tall statue by Eric Gill, installed in 1933, depicted Prospero sending Ariel out into the world.
LSC was commissioned to repair damages and restore the statue, after BBC consulted Historic England over restoration controversied around Eric Gill.
