The restoration of Manor Park Fountain, ahead of it centenary, was led by London Stone Conservation. The works were commissioned by London Borough of Sutton and Friends of Manor Park.

At the centre of Sutton’s Manor Park stands a historic fountain, first installed in 1925 and now listed as part of the park’s Grade II heritage status. Over time, it had suffered from weathering, cracked stone, worn pointing, and the loss of its original finial.

The fountain was gently cleaned using conservation-approved and minimally invasive methods, removing decades of staining and biological growth. Our team carefully repaired the joints with lime mortar, and damaged stone was repaired using traditional techniques. Our stone masons also carved a new finial from Carrara marble to match the original design seen in historic photos. Internal voids were filled using micro-grouting to strengthen the structure, and plumbing repairs ensured the fountain could flow once more. Now restored, the fountain stands ready to celebrate its 100th year in 2025.
