London Stone Conservation’s conservators and craftspeople offer a range of specialist skills in the conservation of historic buildings and objects. With years of formal training and experience, our team provide specialist services to manage the dismantling, transportation and storage of heritage objects.

We approach the work with a careful expert, thoughtful examination of the objects in situ, and then develop a work process that limits the possibility of any harm to the objects.

Our storage crates are constructed of marine plywood with internal supporting struts and reinforced with an external timber framework. The crates are built to conservation grade designs, to include floating support bases, dispersed load cushioning and ventilation to the vertical faces to improve air circulation. All stonework is wrapped in a vapour permeable membrane and protected using high-density polyethylene foam.
